In her last work Sharira , choreographed on a single dancer, Chandralekha uses yogic breath and movement to create a stunning interplay of sensuality , sexuality and spirituality - a coming together of all that she so ardently believed in.
Sharira draws on three major choreographed works produced by Chandralekha over the last ten years (1992-2002). Shree in 1992; Raga in 1998; and Sharira in 2002. The film demonstrates how consistently she has worked towards challenging the Victorian mores that led to the compartmentalization of the human psyche – dividing the body from the mind, feeling from thought. sensuality and sexuality from spirituality.
